Of all of the technological inventions I’ve enjoyed, I’d have to say that the internet is the best one of all. I mean, what can’t you find on the internet? Once upon a time I had to turn on the television and flip to the Weather Channel and wait for my region to come on in order to find out that day’s forecast – now I can check instantly from my computer, iPod Touch, cell phone, or one of the kids’ iPads. Once upon a time I didn’t know if school would be closed for a snow day until I checked the news alerts on television – now I just wait for a text message from the school announcement system. Once upon a time I’d have to go store to store in order to find a plus size dress – now I just search online, and then I can order it from an online merchant, or call around to local stores (with numbers found online, of course) to verify that it’s in stock. Once upon a time I’d have no clue what kind of wedding rings orange county there were, unless I called them (and paid for insane long-distance calls) and requested that they mail a catalog – now I just check their website.
